This project is the result of over two years of on and off recording, editing, playing and writing. Will Ragano has been the guitarist, founding member and secondary songwriter for two of Boston’s most unique and acclaimed bands: Think Tree and Count Zero, but this was his first official release as a band leader.

After years on the Boston music scene Will has been lucky enough to become friends with (and be in bands with) some of Boston's most talented musicians. Many of them helped him create this varied collection of ambitious songs. Anchored by Count Zero drummer Shawn Marquis on 10 of the 12 songs, this group’s virtuosic skills and improvisational abilities allowed the songs in Will’s head to come to life in brilliant and unexpected ways. By combining acoustic and electronic sounds (and samples) with written and improvised parts they have created a unique musical world that’s often dark and playful at the same time. And the lyrics propel the songs along a fascinating path with rhythm, insight and clever wordplay.

"A solid roster of esteemed local musicians produces a type of futuristic and atypically psychedelic pop music filtered through some intriguing compression and echo effects, all of which makes for a rewarding listening experience which, in some aspects, resembles an initiation into a previously unheard form of music. Softly melodic forms are abraded; eccentric tunes are lightened with string sections; there is a type of rigorous beauty in these inventive, almost post-human compositions. Taken as a whole, we are propelled into a fantastic world of possibilities, with songs both solidly melodic (“Periscope”) and busily evanescent (“Slow”). The best songs are especially striking: the Bowie-esque “It’s All in Your Head” is a memorable tune; the mutant C&W of “Zoe Rosario” is irresistibly catchy; best of show is the wavering, delicate “If You Don’t Have Eyes.” Recommended."

Will graduated from Berklee College of Music, after receiving a degree from the Southwest Guitar Conservatory.

While at Berklee, he played in the twisted electro-funk-punk band Psycho Tec, which later morphed into the highly acclaimed band Think Tree, who toured Europe twice, opened for Nine Inch Nails, won numerous awards and played many sold-out shows at large venues in Boston and New York. ... more
